Blue spectrum 6400k lamp designed for the propagation and vegetative stages. The Blue CFL Grow Light is used for when plants are in Grow. The Green Base Cap is used to indicate that it is for grow and vegetative growth. The CFL Grow Light's are effective, energy saving, reliable, low heat generating horticultural grow lamp, giving excellent results and lower operating costs for all indoor growers. CFL's do not generate excessive heat and can therefore be used directly over plants. The secret is to position just 3cm or 4cm above the top of the plant where it gives maximum possible light without burning your plants. CFL's are self-ballasting and therefore simple to install or wire-up. They are specifically designed to be energy saving bulbs and therefore give much lower operating costs than the alternatives, with their high lumen output and long life operation. You will need to purchase a CFL Reflector to use with this CFL bulb. So if space and heat emissions are an issue for you, or if you want a superb propagation/cutting light - choose an CFL lamp.

In Summary the CFL Grow Lamp is very popular as it only consumes a small amount of electrical energy in comparison to HID Grow Lights. It therefore generates less heat and this in turn makes it very versatile for small spaces. Final comment is this will not replace HID Grow Lights, but is a fine product for slowly building up sturdy solid young plants.
